DJ Basilisk - Live at Harvest 2006

dj-basilisk-live-at-harvest-2006-orange

This is the live recording of my set at Harvest 2006. I was opening the trance tent at 9:00 pm on the night of the festival so my intention was to get things started right, beginning with an old favourite from 1992. From there the set develops into progressive house and trance territory, keeping it all fairly low-key. The final half hour picks up the pace, taking the crowd on an electro house-influenced rollercoaster ride designed to get everyone pumped and psyched for a full night of dancing and celebration.

  1. Hey man,great gig,i love all tracks on this set,but legendary Orbital,omg,fuckin’ great.Thanks 4 sharing

  2. We moved to another office last week but only today I brought my speakers there (Creative iTrigue, nothing special, yet something) and we’ve been listening to your and Basilisk last sets for the whole day 🙂

    Thanx! 😉

  3. Alright, it’s freaking tight. The mix from Vagua to Tetraktys… wikid long transfer, you held it through he breakdown without going out, and the notes from Vagua go perfectly with the melody in the Tetraktys track. Quite a big step up in energy, but I am sure it woke people up!

Your mixing and levels are spot on, mixes are in key, transfers smooth or punchy, but all sounding awesome. I would have loved to have been there for this set because I would have danced my ass off.

My only criticisms would be that the POTS track is pretty quiet, and that the Ticon track drops out abruptly, both of those being pretty minor. It’s a tad too electro for me at the end, but that is totally subjective.

And the fact that it is live… props to you big time.

  4. i like all older mixes from you much more > we dont need more progressive in this scene …

  5. really nice set you got there Smile perfect for this beautiful sunny saturday afternoon

  6. When the first track started, I thought I recognized it. Blow and behold, the opening track to the film hackers, one of my faves. It wasn’t long before I realised this had to be one of my favourite mixs ever!
