Fear of Fours represents another foray into deep house and pop techno with vocals, always with a balance of darkness and light, groove and sensibility. These selections were completely unscripted, as usual.

Year of the Snake is a vocal-heavy set oscillating from dark and moody to bright and funky, blending deep and dirty house beats with pop techno and indie dance. Smooth and catchy, it has something for every fan of 80s-influenced underground dance music.

Under Control is a free-wheeling two hour mix of deep, dark, and moody house with more upbeat, punchy, and melodic progressive techno. After experimenting with a more house-oriented direction this performance represented a convergence of influences, reuniting this project with elements more typically associated with DJ Basilisk.

Deep and mysterious Subterranean Sounds from the underground, smoothly flowing from dark and dreamy to warm and melodic by the very end. Rooted in progressive house but informed by deep house and progressive techno, this short recording from Synaptic FX covers a lot of territory without losing the plot.

Heat Sync opens on a deep and moody note before heading off into darker territory with tough and brawny psychedelic techno and trance, bringing the dance floor to a boil. As with all my sets performed live, this one was completely unscripted.

DJ Basilisk’s Concrete Dreams showcases the contemporary psychedelic techno sound of Techgnosis Records, Digital Diamonds, Blind Arc, and friends. Deep, pumping beats, edgy bass lines, and dark, bewitching atmospheres can be heard throughout the mix. Recorded live in Taiwan.
